Let’s bring the Sundance Film Festival to
COLORADO!
An Historic Opportunity
Colorado’s bid to host the Sundance Film Festival in Boulder is a once in a generation opportunity that promises to elevate the cultural landscape of the region while driving significant economic benefits throughout Colorado.
From more than 60 cities across the country, the Sundance Institute has selected Boulder as one of three finalists to be the new home of the festival. We expect a decision in early 2025.
Coloradans across the state are rallying in support of our bid by pledging financial support to help the financial portion of our bid be on par with the natural, hospitality, entertainment and outdoor advantages that are unique to Boulder and Colorado. Pledges are only due if Colorado is selected.
The relocation of the Sundance Film Festival to Colorado would not only showcase independent filmmakers, but also attract tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe. It will foster diverse local talent through year-round programming and labs advancing equity in filmmaking.
We invite you to join us in bringing to fruition this exciting prospect that will position Colorado as a new hub for cinematic creativity and collaboration, enhancing its reputation as a cultural destination and generating a substantial economic boost that resonates across the state.
Securing philanthropic donations is crucial to this endeavor.
COLORADO GOVERNOR JARED POLIS
“Boulder is the next natural home to the Sundance Film Festival and we are excited to be one of three finalists to host starting in 2027. Here in Colorado we cherish our creative communities, the jobs they create, and the economic contributions they make to our entire state, and the Sundance Film Festival would perfectly complement the work and creative activity already happening here in Colorado.”
